Dear Snoopy and Phill,
It has been very mild this winter in Alaska, where I live. I would like to have a garden for vegetables. I noticed that Cody grew some huge carrots. What do you recommend for fertilizer? When should I plant? Are there other vegetables that would grow well here in Southeast Alaska?

Dear Mr. Thumb,
Snoopy: We got your letter and we would be happy to help you out. First I would like to thank you for sending us a question, we hadn't got any until now.
Phill: Yes, but to answer your question, Vinnie cooked up some kind of fertilizer in the back yard next to the garden, that's how Cody's carrot got so big but believe me results may very!
Snoopy: Plant in the first month of spring after the snow is gone. And as for vegetables I recommend lettuce. Oh one more thing, don't use any fertilizer that glows in the dark.
